If you identify incorrect contact information in Cognism, you can report it directly from the Cognism Chrome Extension.
Reporting inaccurate data helps improve the quality of the Cognism database.

If a contact's work email address or phone number appears to be incorrect:
- Open the contact in the Cognism Chrome Extension.
- Locate the email address or phone number you want to report.
- Click the Flag icon next to the incorrect data.
- Select the appropriate reason for reporting the information.
- Submit your report.
Your feedback is sent to Cognism's data team for review.
What Can Be Reported?
You can report issues such as:
- Incorrect work email addresses.
- Invalid or outdated phone numbers.
- Contact details that no longer belong to the individual.
Can't See the Flag Icon?
The reporting option is available for supported contact details within the Cognism Chrome Extension.
If the Flag icon is not displayed, the data may not currently support in-product reporting. If you need further assistance, contact Cognism Support.
What Happens Next?
Once the issue has been reported, Cognism will review the record as part of its data quality processes.
If the information is confirmed to be inaccurate, the record may be updated or corrected during a future database refresh.
Please note that not all requested changes can be applied immediately, as updates are subject to Cognism's data validation and verification processes.
