Configure conditional field mappings to control how Cognism data is written to your CRM during exports.
Conditional mappings allow you to match Cognism values to the values used in your CRM, helping maintain consistent data across your organisation.
Before you begin
Before configuring conditional mappings, ensure that:
- You are a Cognism administrator.
- Your CRM has already been connected to Cognism.
- You have permission to edit CRM integration settings.
What are conditional field mappings?
Conditional field mappings allow you to translate Cognism values into the values expected by your CRM.
For example, your CRM may use different naming conventions or picklist values than Cognism.
Conditional mappings ensure exported records use the correct values for your CRM.
Fields that support conditional mapping
Depending on your CRM, you can configure mappings for fields such as:
- Industry
- Country
- State
- Department
- Seniority
- Company Type
Available fields may vary depending on the connected CRM.

- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Select Configure next to your connected CRM.
- Open Field Mappings.
- Select the CRM object you want to configure (for example, Leads, Contacts, or Accounts).
- Locate the field you want to customise.
- In the Actions column, select the Settings icon.

When should you use conditional mappings?
Conditional mappings are useful when:
- Your CRM uses custom picklist values.
- Standard Cognism values do not match your CRM.
- You want consistent reporting across your CRM.
- Your business uses customised field values.
Best practices
- Keep CRM picklist values standardised where possible.
- Review mappings after introducing new CRM values.
- Test exports after making changes.
- Update mappings whenever your CRM structure changes.
Expected result
After configuring conditional mappings:
- Cognism exports values that match your CRM.
- Picklist validation errors are reduced.
- CRM reports remain consistent.
- Users spend less time manually correcting exported data.
