If an export to Salesforce fails, Cognism displays the error returned by Salesforce.
This article explains the most common Salesforce export errors, what they mean, and how to resolve them.
If you're unsure why an export failed, first verify that:
- The Salesforce integration is connected.
- You are logged in to Salesforce.
- Your Salesforce session has not expired.
- You have permission to create or update Salesforce records.
- Your Salesforce administrator has completed the required integration setup.
Authentication errors
Missing parameter: code
What it means
Cognism could not complete the Salesforce authentication process.
This error typically occurs when the Salesforce Connected App is not configured correctly or Salesforce blocks the OAuth authorisation request.
Common causes
- The Cognism Chrome Connected App has not been installed or approved in Salesforce.
- IP restrictions are enforced on the Connected App.
- The Salesforce authorisation process was interrupted.
- The Connected App policies were recently changed.
Resolution
- In Salesforce, go to Setup > Connected Apps > Manage Connected Apps.
- Verify that the Cognism Chrome Connected App is installed and approved.
- Open Edit Policies for the Connected App.
- Under IP Relaxation, select Relax IP restrictions.
- Save the changes.
- Disconnect the Salesforce integration in Cognism.
- Reconnect Salesforce and complete the authorisation process again.
If your organisation requires IP allowlisting instead of relaxed IP restrictions, configure Cognism's static IP addresses before reconnecting the integration. For more information, see Use Static IP Restrictions with Salesforce.
