Before users can export data from Cognism to Outreach, the integration must be configured by a Cognism Administrator and users must have the appropriate permissions in both Cognism and Outreach.
Requirements
Before configuring the integration, ensure that:
- You have an active Outreach account.
- You have a Cognism account with access to Integrations.
- A Cognism Administrator has enabled the Outreach integration.
- You can sign in to Outreach using your own credentials.
- You have permission to create or update Prospects and Accounts in Outreach.
Cognism permissions
Only Cognism Administrators can:
- Enable the Outreach integration.
- Authenticate the organisation's Outreach connection.
- Configure field mappings.
- Configure export behaviour and duplicate handling settings.
Once the integration has been configured, all authorised users can sign in to their own Outreach account and export records from the Cognism Web Application or Chrome Extension.
Outreach permissions
The connected Outreach user should have permission to:
- Create Prospects.
- Update existing Prospects.
- Create Accounts.
- Update existing Accounts.
- Add Prospects to Sequences.
- Access the mailbox used for sequencing.
If these permissions are missing, exports may fail with authorisation or permission-related errors.
Before configuring field mappings
Before users begin exporting records, we recommend that administrators review:
- Prospect field mappings.
- Account field mappings.
- Duplicate handling settings.
- Export behaviour for existing records.
- Sequence settings.
These options determine how Cognism creates and updates records in Outreach and how exported prospects are handled during sequencing.
