This article answers common questions about the Cognism Salesloft integration.
Can I use Salesloft alongside my CRM?
Yes. Salesloft is commonly used alongside a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
In this setup:
- Your CRM stores customer records and manages your sales pipeline.
- Salesloft is used for outbound prospecting, sales cadences, and communication.
- Cognism can export records to both platforms as part of your sales workflow.
Who can configure the Salesloft integration?
Only Cognism Administrators can:
- Enable the Salesloft integration.
- Configure field mappings.
- Configure matching behaviour.
- Manage integration settings.
Once configured, users can authenticate their own Salesloft account and begin exporting records.
Can all users export to Salesloft?
Yes.
Once the integration has been configured by an administrator, users can log in to their own Salesloft account and export contacts from the Cognism Web Application or Chrome Extension.
Can I export from the Chrome Extension?
Yes.
The Salesloft integration supports exports from both:
- Cognism Web Application
- Cognism Chrome Extension
Both use the same field mappings and integration settings.
What happens if the record already exists?
Before creating a new record, Cognism checks for an existing match in Salesloft.
If a matching record is found, Cognism updates the existing record according to your configured matching and update settings instead of creating a duplicate.
How are duplicate records prevented?
Cognism uses matching rules before exporting records.
People
People are matched using:
- Cognism ID (if mapped)
- Email address
Accounts
Accounts are matched using:
- Cognism ID (if mapped)
- LinkedIn URL (if mapped)
- Company Domain
These matching rules help reduce duplicate People and Accounts in Salesloft.
Can I customise which fields are exported?
Yes.
Administrators can configure Person and Account field mappings to determine which Cognism data is exported into Salesloft.
Can exported contacts be added directly to a Cadence?
Yes.
When exporting contacts, you can choose to add them directly to a Salesloft Cadence, provided the cadence is available to your Salesloft user.
If a cadence is missing from the export window, see Salesloft Troubleshooting.
Why can't I see a Cadence during export?
Common causes include:
- The cadence is not visible to your Salesloft user.
- The cadence name begins with a blank space.
- The cadence contains no steps.
- The cadence cannot be found because your organisation has a large number of cadences.
If you have many cadences, try typing the full cadence name in the search box.
Why did my export fail with a 403: Forbidden error?
This usually means your Salesloft user does not have permission to create or edit People or Accounts.
Contact your Salesloft Administrator to verify your permissions before trying the export again.
