Before users can export data from Cognism to Salesloft, the integration must be configured by a Cognism Administrator and users must have the appropriate permissions in both Cognism and Salesloft.
Requirements
Before configuring the integration, ensure that:
- You have an active Salesloft account.
- You have a Cognism account with access to Integrations.
- A Cognism Administrator has enabled the Salesloft integration.
- You can sign in to Salesloft using your own credentials.
- You have permission within Salesloft to create or update People and Accounts.
Cognism permissions
Only Cognism Administrators can:
- Enable the Salesloft integration.
- Authenticate the organisation's Salesloft connection.
- Configure field mappings.
- Configure export behaviour and matching settings.
Once the integration has been configured, all authorised users can sign in to Salesloft and export records from the Cognism Web Application or Chrome Extension.
Salesloft permissions
The connected Salesloft user should have permission to:
- Create People.
- Create Accounts.
- Edit existing records.
- View and assign Cadences (if exporting directly into a cadence).
If these permissions are missing, exports may fail with permission-related errors, such as 403: Forbidden.
Before configuring field mappings
Before exporting records, we recommend that you:
- Review your Person field mappings.
- Review your Account field mappings.
- Decide whether existing People should be updated when a match is found.
- Decide whether related Accounts should also be updated during export.
These settings determine how Cognism handles duplicate records and existing data in Salesloft.
Next steps
After confirming the required permissions:
- Configure the Salesloft Integration
- Configure Salesloft Field Mappings
- Export Contacts and Companies to Salesloft
