If you're unable to invite a new user to the Cognism Legacy Platform, there are several common causes.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
- You are logged in as an administrator.
- You have permission to manage users.
No Available Licences
Each Cognism subscription includes a limited number of user licences.
Before inviting a new user, check the number of available licences displayed in the Add User window.
If no licences are available, you must:
- Deactivate an existing user to free up a licence, or
- Contact your Cognism Account Manager to discuss purchasing additional licences.
The User Already Exists
If the email address has already been added to your organisation, a new invitation cannot be sent.
Search the Users list to determine whether the user already exists.
The User Has a Pending Invitation
Users who have not yet accepted their invitation appear with a Pending Invite status.
If the invitation has expired, resend the invitation instead of creating a new user.
Invalid Email Address
Verify that:
- The email address has been entered correctly.
- The user is using a valid business email address.
Insufficient Permissions
Only administrators can invite new users.
If you cannot access Users & Teams, contact one of your Cognism administrators.
