A common cause is the number of contacts that were saved in a single action from Search to a list.
When saving contacts:
- 25 records or fewer in a single save action use View Credits.
- More than 25 records in a single save action are treated as a bulk action and require Bulk Credits.
This applies even if the total number of contacts in the list was built up over time.
Example
Correct workflow
- Save 25 contacts.
- Save another 25 contacts.
- Save another 25 contacts.
Each batch is processed separately, and the contacts are revealed individually using View Credits.
Bulk workflow
- Select 100 contacts in Search.
- Save all 100 contacts to a list in one action.
The contacts are added to the list but remain unrevealed until Bulk Credits are available. They must then be redeemed using Bulk Credits before they can be:
- Exported to a CRM.
- Downloaded as a CSV.
- Accessed as revealed contact data.
How can I check what happened?
Open the List History for the affected list.
The history shows how many records were added in each save action.
If a single save action contains more than 25 records, those records were treated as a bulk save and require Bulk Credits.
How can administrators prevent this?
To reduce accidental Bulk Credit consumption, administrators can assign 0 Bulk Credits to standard users.
Bulk Credits can then be allocated only when users need to perform genuine bulk activities such as:
- Bulk Save to List
- API usage
- Enhance
This helps ensure Bulk Credits are reserved for intentional bulk operations rather than being consumed accidentally during prospecting.
