Cognism Legacy uses different credit types depending on how contact data is accessed.
Understanding the difference between View Credits and Bulk Credits helps you manage credit consumption and choose the most appropriate workflow.
View Credits
View Credits are consumed when you access individual contact information.
Common actions that use View Credits include:
- Revealing an individual contact.
- Viewing previously hidden contact details.
- Accessing contact information one record at a time.
- Page-level exports (to list or CRM > up to 25 per page).
View Credits are intended for users researching or engaging with individual prospects.
Bulk Credits
Bulk Credits are consumed when retrieving multiple contacts in a single action.
Common actions that use Bulk Credits include:
- Saving multiple contacts to a list (over 25).
- Using the Enhance feature (CSV Enrichment)
- Using the Cognism API.
Bulk Credits are designed for larger prospecting and data export activities.
Which Credit Type Will Be Used?
The type of credit consumed depends on the action you perform rather than the contact itself.
| Action | Credit Type |
|---|---|
| Reveal/export an individual contact or bulk up to 25 | View Credit |
| Export/Save bulk contacts (over 25) | Bulk Credit |
| Using Enhance or API | Bulk Credit |
Monitoring Credit Usage
Administrators can monitor credit usage to understand how credits are being consumed across the organisation.
Reviewing credit usage regularly helps ensure your team is using available credits efficiently.
Troubleshooting
Why did revealing a contact consume a View Credit?
Revealing individual contact information uses View Credits.
Why do I still have Bulk Credits but no View Credits?
View Credits and Bulk Credits are tracked separately. Exhausting one credit type does not affect the remaining balance of the other.
Can I choose which credit type is used?
No. The credit type is determined automatically based on the action being performed.
