This article answers common questions about the Cognism Bullhorn integration.
Can I use Bullhorn as my primary CRM?
Yes.
Bullhorn is a CRM and applicant tracking system (ATS) designed for recruitment and staffing organisations. It enables businesses to manage candidates, contacts, companies, leads, and recruitment workflows.
The Cognism integration allows you to export prospect and company data directly into Bullhorn, helping recruiters and business development teams maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Who can configure the Bullhorn integration?
Only Cognism Administrators can:
- Enable the Bullhorn integration.
- Configure field mappings.
- Manage the organisation's Bullhorn connection.
- Configure export settings.
Once configured, authorised users can begin exporting records from Cognism.
Can all users export to Bullhorn?
Yes.
Once the integration has been configured by an administrator, authorised users with the required Bullhorn permissions can export records from the Cognism Web Application.
Which Bullhorn editions are supported?
The Cognism integration supports:
- Team
- Corporate
- Enterprise
- Enterprise Plus
Your Bullhorn subscription must also include the Leads and Opportunities paid add-on for the integration to function correctly.
Is the Leads and Opportunities add-on required?
Yes.
The Leads and Opportunities paid add-on is required to use the Bullhorn integration.
Without it:
- The integration cannot function correctly.
- Field mappings may not load.
- Exports cannot be completed.
What records can I export?
Depending on your Bullhorn configuration and permissions, you can export:
- Leads
- Contacts
- Candidates
- Companies
What happens if the record already exists?
Before creating a new record, Cognism checks Bullhorn for an existing match.
If a matching Lead, Contact, Candidate, or Company is found, Cognism updates the existing record instead of creating a duplicate.
How are duplicate records prevented?
Cognism uses matching rules before exporting records.
Leads, Contacts and Candidates
Records are matched using:
- Cognism ID (if mapped)
- Email address
- First Name + Last Name + Company Name (+ Company City where available)
Companies
Companies are matched using:
- Cognism ID (if mapped)
- LinkedIn URL (if mapped)
- Company domain
- Company Name (+ City where available)
These matching rules help reduce duplicate records within Bullhorn.
Can I customise which fields are exported?
Yes.
Administrators can configure field mappings to determine which Cognism data is exported to Bullhorn for:
- Leads
- Contacts
- Candidates
- Companies
Which Bullhorn field types are supported?
The Bullhorn integration supports:
- String
- Integer
- BigDecimal
- Double
- Boolean
- Timestamp
Only supported field types appear in the Cognism field mapping list.
Which Bullhorn field types are not supported?
Unsupported field types include:
- Reference fields
- Association fields
- Unsupported custom or complex field types
These fields cannot be mapped and will not appear in the Cognism field mapping settings.
Why can't I see a Bullhorn field when configuring mappings?
If a Bullhorn field does not appear in the mapping list, it is usually because:
- The field type is not supported by the Cognism integration.
- Your Bullhorn subscription does not include the Leads and Opportunities paid add-on.
- The integration has disconnected and needs to be reconnected.
