Configure field mappings to control how Cognism data is written to HubSpot when users export contacts or run enrichment.
Field mappings are configured once by a Cognism Admin and apply to all users in your organisation.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
- The HubSpot integration has already been connected.
- You are a Cognism Admin.
- You have created any custom HubSpot properties you intend to map.
- You have the required HubSpot permissions.
Open HubSpot Field Mappings
- In the Cognism Web App, click your User Avatar.
- Select Settings.
- Open Integrations.
- Select HubSpot.
- Open the Field Mappings tab.
The mapping screen displays Cognism fields alongside the corresponding HubSpot properties.
Configure Your Mappings
For each Cognism field:
- Select the HubSpot property you want the data to populate.
- Repeat this for all required fields.
- Save your changes.
Mapped fields will be populated whenever contacts or companies are exported to HubSpot or updated through supported enrichment workflows.
Supported HubSpot Field Types
The HubSpot integration supports mapping to the following property types:
| HubSpot Property Type | Supported |
|---|---|
| Text (String) | ✅ |
| Number | ✅ |
| Date | ✅ |
| Date & Time | ✅ |
| Single Select (Enumeration) | ✅ |
| Boolean (True / False) | ✅ |
Unsupported Field Types
Some HubSpot property types cannot be mapped through the Cognism integration.
Examples include:
- Calculated properties
- Multi-checkbox properties
- Custom objects that are not exposed through the HubSpot API
- Other unsupported API field types
Unsupported properties will not appear in the field mapping dropdown within Cognism.
Best Practices
To achieve the best results:
- Map only the fields your organisation intends to use.
- Ensure dropdown values in HubSpot match the values exported by Cognism where applicable.
- Review mappings whenever new HubSpot properties are created.
- Test exports after making significant mapping changes.
