Export redeemed contacts from a Cognism list directly to your integrated CRM.
Exporting from a list allows you to review contacts before sending them to your CRM, ensuring only the records you want are exported.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:
- You have connected your CRM integration.
- The contacts you want to export have been redeemed.
You have permission to create or update records in your CRM.
Note: Unredeemed contacts cannot be exported to a CRM.
Export Contacts
- Open the Lists tab.
- Select the list you want to export.
- Select one or more redeemed contacts.
- Click Export.
- Select your CRM from the dropdown.
- Review the export settings.
- Confirm the export.
The export is queued for processing.
Review Export Status
After the export has been submitted, the Info column displays the export status for each contact.
Status indicators include:
- Successful – The contact was exported successfully.
- Failed – The contact could not be exported.
If an export fails, review the error message (hover over the icon) and resolve the issue before attempting the export again.
How Existing Accounts Are Handled
During export, Cognism attempts to match records with existing accounts in your CRM.
If no matching account is found, a new account may be created depending on your CRM integration and configuration.
Understanding CRM Exports
Exporting contacts from a list sends the selected contacts to your connected CRM.
The exact fields that are exported depend on:
- Your CRM integration.
- Your field mappings.
- Your CRM configuration.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I export contacts?
Verify that:
- The contacts have been redeemed.
- A CRM integration has been configured.
- You have selected at least one contact.
Why is the Export button unavailable?
The Export option is available only when one or more contacts are selected.
Why did my export fail?
A failed export may occur because of:
- Missing CRM permissions.
- Invalid field mappings.
- Required CRM fields not being populated.
- A temporary integration issue.
Review the error shown in the Info column and correct the issue before exporting again.
Can I export unredeemed contacts?
No.
Contacts must be redeemed before they can be exported to a CRM.
Will exporting consume additional credits?
No.
Exporting already redeemed contacts does not consume additional credits.
If contacts are unredeemed, they must first be redeemed before they can be exported.
Best Practices
- Review contacts before exporting.
- Refresh older lists to identify updated contact information before export.
- Export only redeemed contacts.
- Resolve any failed exports before attempting another export.
- If updating an existing CRM, consider using Enhance with a CRM export/import workflow instead of exporting from a Cognism list. This helps prevent duplicate records, particularly when contacts have changed companies.
