Use Contact Search in Prospector to find people that match your ideal customer profile using a combination of contact and company filters.
Before You Begin
- Go to Prospector.
- Select the Contact tab.
The available filters are divided into two sections:
- Contact Filters – Filter contacts based on their role, location, skills, and contact data quality.
Company Filters – Further refine results based on the companies those contacts work for.
Note: All Company filters available in Contact Search are also available under the Company search.
Contact Filters
Job Title & Seniority
Use these filters to find contacts based on their role within an organisation.
You can:
- Search by one or more Job Titles (for example, Sales Director, CEO, or Head of Marketing).
- Upload up to 1,000 job titles from a CSV file.
- Exclude specific job titles.
- Enable Exact Job Title Match to return only contacts with the exact job title entered.
- Filter by Seniority to target decision-makers at different organisational levels.
- Filter by Department, such as Sales, Marketing, Technology, HR, Operations, Legal, Finance, Customer Success, and more.
Location
Search for contacts based on where they are located.
You can filter by:
- Region
- Country
- State or County
- City
Countries and states can also be included or excluded by uploading a CSV file.
Details
Use additional filters to narrow your search by:
- Full name
- Skills
- Previously notified contacts
If you're searching for a specific individual, using the Chrome Extension is generally the fastest option.
Contact Data Quality
Improve the quality of your results by filtering contacts based on available contact information.
Available options include:
- Diamond Contacts Only – Returns contacts with phone-verified information.
- Phone Type – Filter for Mobile, Direct Dial, or Office numbers.
- Email Quality – Return any available email or only verified email addresses.
Company Filters
Company filters allow you to narrow your results based on the companies your contacts work for.
General Information
Filter companies using:
- Company name (include or exclude)
- Company domain (include or exclude)
- Keywords found in the company description
- Employee headcount
- Revenue
- Company founded year
- Company type (for example, Public, Private, or Non-profit)
You can upload up to 1,000 company names or domains from a CSV file.
Office Location
Search companies based on where they operate.
Choose between:
- All Locations – Returns companies with offices in the selected location, including headquarters and subsidiaries.
- Headquarters (HQ) – Returns only companies whose headquarters are located in the selected location.
Filter by:
- Region
- Country
- State or County
- City
- Postal code
Industries
Filter companies by industry using standard industry categories.
You can:
- Include or exclude industries.
- Search using SIC, ISIC, or NAICS industry codes.
- Choose whether to include companies that operate across multiple industries.
Technologies
Find companies using specific technologies.
You can include or exclude technologies such as CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, marketing automation tools, and other software products.
Event Triggers
Identify contacts and companies based on recent events.

- Hiring activity
Many event filters can also be refined using date ranges.
Advanced Filters
Use these options when you need more precise matching.
Available settings include:
- Company Name Exact Match
- Domain Exact Match
Domain Filter (show only companies with a domain, without a domain, or both)
Tip: Exact Match filters return results only when the value entered exactly matches the stored data. If you're not finding the expected results, try disabling Exact Match to broaden your search.
Search Results
Results update automatically as filters are applied.
The Contacts Found counter displays the number of matching contacts.
Searching does not consume credits. Credits are only used when you reveal or export unrevealed contacts.
You can:
- Select Clear Filters to start a new search.
- Click Save to save your search for future use.
- Click Load to reopen and continue working with a previously saved search.
