You can remove the Cognism Chrome Extension at any time using the Chrome toolbar or the Chrome Extensions page.
Uninstalling the extension removes it from your browser but does not delete your Cognism account, settings, or data.
Before You Begin
Before uninstalling the extension, ensure that:
- You are using Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser.
You are signed in to the browser profile where the extension is installed.
Note: Removing the extension only affects your browser. Your Cognism account and data remain unchanged.
Remove the Extension from the Chrome Toolbar
To uninstall the extension:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the Extensions icon in the browser toolbar.
- Locate Cognism.
- Click the More actions (three dots) menu next to the extension.
- Select Remove from Chrome.
- Click Remove to confirm.
The extension is removed from your browser.
Remove the Extension from Chrome Settings
You can also uninstall the extension from the Chrome Extensions page.
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click the More menu (three dots).
- Select Extensions > Manage Extensions.
- Locate the Cognism Chrome Extension.
- Click Remove.
- Click Remove again to confirm.
The extension is removed from Chrome.
What Happens After Uninstalling?
After uninstalling:
- The Cognism icon is removed from your browser toolbar.
- Cognism no longer appears on LinkedIn or other supported websites.
- Your Cognism account remains active.
- Your saved settings and account data are not deleted.
You can reinstall the extension at any time by downloading it again from the Chrome Web Store.
Troubleshooting
I Can't Remove the Extension
If the Remove option isn't available, the extension may have been installed and managed by your organisation.
Contact your IT administrator for assistance.
The Extension Still Appears After Removing It
If the extension is still visible:
- Restart Google Chrome.
- Confirm that the extension has been removed from Manage Extensions.
- If you're using Chrome Sync, verify that the extension hasn't been reinstalled automatically on another synced browser profile.
I Want to Use the Extension Again
You can reinstall the extension at any time.
